Raymond Reist Memorial services: 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, Shepherd of the Cross Lutheran Church, 3300 N. Highway 38, Muscatine. Raymond Leslie Reist, 61, Muscatine, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, after an extended illness with dementia. For the past five years, he resided with his brother, Doug and wife Candis. Private graveside services were held today at Greenwood Cemetery. The Jeffrey S. Nichols Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Crematory, 114 West Fourth St., is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Reist was born March 5, 1945, in Muscatine, the son of Herman L. and Mary Ida Reed Reist. He graduated from Rockridge High School in 1963 and Muscatine Community College. He resided in Illinois City, Ill. until 1967, when he moved to Muscatine. He retired from Kent Feeds in 1998 after 33 years of service. He also helped with his brother Doug's business, Midtown Towing and Repair, Muscatine. He was a member of the Moose Lodge.
