ALBERTA JOHNSON Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2006, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2006, at the funeral home. Alberta C. Johnson, 84, of Muscatine died Saturday, October 28, 2006, at Unity Hospital. The Reverends Richard Nye and John Merritt of the First United Church of Christ will officiate. Casket bearers will be Gordon Esmoil, Jesse Esmoil, Richard Nash, Jeremy Behrend, Mark Kopf, and Alan Mallernee. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family in care of her daughter Margo Behrend. Alberta was born on March 3, 1922, in Muscatine, the daughter of Jessie Earl and Catherine Flood Lutz. She married William B. Johnson on August 2, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 1962. Alberta was a member of the First United Church of Christ. She was a lifelong homemaker, an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles.
