COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa -- Evelyn A. Hamilton, 94, Columbus Junction, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, at the Morning Sun Care Center, Morning Sun. The Rev. Cathy Whitlatch will officiate. Casket bearers are Kenny Hobbs, Bobby Hobbs, Brian Hobbs, Rodney Hobbs, Ronald Hobbs Jr. and Doug Mills. Honorary casket bearers are her grandchildren and Jason. Burial will be at Columbus City Cemetery. After the burial, a time of food and fellowship will be held at Columbus Junction United Methodist Church. Memorials may be directed to the Morning Sun Care Center. Mrs. Hamilton was born Dec. 5, 1911, in West Chester, Iowa, the daughter of George A. and Theresa Keifer Reighard. She married Vernon E. Hobbs in December 1929. He preceded her in death in April 1947. She later married Herbert Hamilton in June 1965 in Chilicothe, Mo. She was employed at Ross Dry Goods, Columbus Junction, for 18 years, cleaned for Dr. Carrol and Dr. Masonholder and worked at the Tomato Factory. She was active i...[more]

Survivors include three sons, Marvin Hobbs and wife Helen of Morning Sun, Leland Hobbs and wife Maxine of Mediapolis and Ronald Hobbs and friend Janet Grimm of Riverside; a daughter, Patricia Mills and husband Jess of Morning Sun; a son-in-law, John Mickey; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; a daughter, Carol Mickey; four sisters; three brothers; and one grandson.
