Family will meet friends from 6-8 p.m. WAPELLO, Iowa -- Sandra Jean Geiger, 68, of Wapello, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, at her home. The Rev. Dan Doolin and the Rev. John Gaulke will officiate. Burial will follow at the Fulton Cairo Cemetery, rural Morning Sun. A memorial fund has been established for the benefit of the Wapello Rescue Unit. Mrs. Geiger was born July 9, 1938, in Columbus Junction, the daughter of Herman August and Cleola Hazel Thomas Lihs. She married Gary Geiger Jan. 20, 1973, in Rock Island, Ill. She graduated from Wapello High School and worked as a grill cook for various restaurants in the area, primarily at the Grandview Corners Cafe and also at the Oakville Cafe and the Apron Strings in Mediapolis. She was an avid bingo player. She also enjoyed playing cards, fishing, traveling and spending time with her grandson, Cole.
