Gerald 'Jerry' Sinclair Memorial services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, Springdale United Methodist Church. Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, Henderson-Barker Funeral Home, West Branch. WEST BRANCH, Iowa - Gerald ''Jerry'' Sinclair, 74, West Branch, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, at his home. The Rev. Ruth Blayer will officiate. A memorial fund has been established. Mr. Sinclair was born Nov. 18, 1932, in Corydon, the son of George and Hallie Sinclair. He married Edith Blocher on June 22, 1951, in Corydon. He graduated from Corydon High School in 1951. He was an U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1953-55. He attended basic training at Fort Bliss, Texas and was later stationed at a radar base in Detroit, Mich. Following his military service, he attended Centerville Community College and graduated from North West Missouri State, Maryville, Mo. He taught school in Meservey for nine years and Lowden for two years before moving to West Branch where he taught for 16 years, retiring in 1994. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Thomas Sinclair and wife Shelly of McGregor and Brian Sinclair and wife Deborah of Mount Pleasant; a daughter, Catherine Fulton and husband Mark of Iowa City; five granddaughters; three grandsons; one great-granddaughter; three brothers, LaVern Sinclair of Fort Smith, Ark., Donald Sinclair of Glendale, Calif., and Melvin Sinclair of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and two half-brothers, Roger McVey of Des Moines and Rick McVey of Fort Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William.
