Brandon Allen Oettchen, 30 of Gladbrook, IA passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Mercy One in Waterloo, IA as a result of an automobile accident. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in rural Gladbrook. A memorial visitation luncheon will be held following the interment to allow a time to greet and visit with Brandon's family at the Gladbrook Memorial Hall in Gladbrook. The Anderson Funeral Home in Gladbrook has been entrusted with the arrangements. Brandon received 2 degrees from Hawkeye Community College in 2011. During High School and College he worked at Rowe Manufacturing in Gladbrook. Brandon was employed by B&G Heating and Cooling in Marshalltown, while employed there he received the nations top honors for sheet metal work. ng. Brandon also farmed his grandparents farm. He was a member of Peace United Church of Christ. Brandon loved spending time on the family farm where he enjoyed hosting family and friends in his "man cave" that was always open with cold beverages. From a young age he enjoyed fixing anything and everything that was beyond repair, this passion carried over into adulthood where he was available to help any friend or family member when in need. Outside of his work at LHC & farming, you could find him across the neighborhood assisting at Denbow Family Farms. He made countless friendships throughout his lifetime where he will be deeply missed and long remembered. Brandon will be missed by his parents, Randy and Tamara Oettchen of Gladbrook, a sister, Emily (Austin) Steichen of Spirit Lake, IA, two nephews; Hendrik and Hayes, his paternal grandmother, Caroline Oettchen of Gladbrook. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Herbie Oettchen, and his maternal grandparents; Marlys Hiatt and Richard Norstrud.
