James Alan Phillips 7/2/65 - 6/26/21 James Phillips of Austin, born to John H. Phillips and Catherine Maxine Phillips, went home to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer. James spent 15 years working for Stripling Blake Lumber followed by service with DPS from 2002 to present. James was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church since 1972. In that time he served as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher, and choir member with Woodlawn Baptist Church. He also had a heart of service to serve in any other role needed. James was preceded in death by his father John H. Phillips. He is survived by his wife Jeanie Phillips; son John Phillips and wife Sofia; Son Jimmy Cole and wife Ashley; Daughter Krystal Boykin and husband Mitch; Mother Maxine Phillips; Sisters Cynthia Hanes, Sonja Wood, Yvonne Dyer and husband Rick; and 6 grandchildren: Ethan, Matthew, and Gracie Phillips; Tucker Boykin; and Jaylin and Greyson Cole. James will be remembered as a loving husband and father. Also a dedicated member of the DPS family and long-time glorious member of the Woodlawn Baptist Church family.
