THELMA CONNOR MUSCATINE, Iowa #45;- Thelma A. Connor, 87, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2007, at Iowa City Rehab and Care Center, Iowa City, after she fought a courageous battle with cancer for the past year. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, 1931 Houser Street. Reverend Doresa Collogan of the Sweetland United Methodist Parish will officiate the service. Casket bearers will be Tom Antram, Dick Leach, Kenny Connor, DeWayne Connor, Monty Curry, and Mike Seright Honorary bearers will be Kenneth TeStrake, John Laeser, Robert Laeser, Rich Shield, and Dwight Brockhouse. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice, Ag-Tech Center, or the Eagles Cancer Fund. Thelma was born on June 24, 1920, in Muscatine, the daughter of Glenn and Hazel Mae Young Curry. then as a caregiver to many, in addition to being a housewife, mother, and grandmother. Thelma loved her family and was especially proud of her two granddaughters. Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Brinson and husband, Joe, of Muscatine, and Tina Hoeg and husband, David, of Wapello; two granddaughters, Dena Brinson and fiance, Nate Brockhouse, of Muscatine and Courtney Agness and husband, Justin, of Cedar Rapids; one brother, Joe Curry and wife, Janet, of Columbus Junction; one sister, Berniece Seright of Muscatine; one sister-in-law, Roma Reynolds of Muscatine; and several nieces and nephews. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers, Glenn Jr., Bob, Dick, Paul, and Rex, and two sisters, Helen Hein and Ruth Barko.
