ADELINA VARGAS MUSCATINE, Iowa #45;- Adelina Vargas, 77, of Muscatine, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Graveside Service will be 11 a.m., Monday, July 30, 2007, at Greenwood Cemetery. The Reverend Jason Crossen of the Ss. Mary and Mathias Parish will officiate the service. Casketbearers will be Robert Lopez, Eddie Lopez, Odilon Vargas Jr., Cesar Vargas, Jimmy Vargas and Ron Rick. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, July 30, 2007, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Adelina was born on May 10, 1930, in Juria, Mexico, the daughter of Juan Guevara and Maria Murriyo Guevara. She married Odilon Vargas in 1943 in Juria, Mexico. He preceded her in death. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include four sons, Rudy Vargas of Muscatine, Fred Vargas of Texas, Cesar Vargas of Muscatine, and Odilon Vargas Jr. of Cedar Rapids; three daughters, Elvira Luna and husband, Al, Guadalupe Garcia, and Maggie Giullen all of Muscatine; 24 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jos...[more]
