Margaret M. Domer

Margaret Domer ATALISSA, Iowa - Margaret M. Swickard Domer, 81, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, at Greenwood Manor in Iowa City following an extended illness. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Henderson-Barker Funeral Home, West Liberty, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Domer was born Oct. 18, 1925, in Nichols, the daughter of Elmer and Hazel Hafner Swickard. She was a graduate of Muscatine High School. On April 28, 1975, she was united in marriage to George Domer in Rock Island, Ill. She worked in several restaurants and bars in the area, most recently owning and operating East Side Tap in Rochester from 1973-1978 with her husband. She was a member of the Coralville American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband George of Atalissa; two children, Linda Portman of Buffalo, Mo., and Eric Buckman of Bremerton, Wash.; two sisters, Jean Crabtree of Wheaton, Ill., and Kay Runquist of Orinda, Calif.; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Donald and Ben. [more]
