Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Virginia K. Hanson, 61, of Muscatine, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, at her home. The Rev. Father Jason Crossen will officiate. Casketbearers will be Jeff Finn, Steve Garvin, Joe Schaapveld, Kelly Ryan, Kelly Cave, Mark Klitzke, Robert Schaapveld, Norbert Loos and Harold Loos. Following the funeral mass, a time of food and fellowship will be at Gannon Hall. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Churdan, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or St. Mary's Catholic Church. Mrs. Hanson was born Oct. 11, 1945, the daughter of Edward J. and Louise J. (Foley) Ryan. She married Leland J. Hanson June 22, 1968, in Churdan. She was a graduate of Churdan High School and the University of Northern Iowa and earned her master's degree from Western Illinois University. She will be deeply missed by her husband; two sons, David J. Hanson and his wife, Nicole, of Charlotte, N.C. and John M. Hanson and his wife, Kristin, of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Andrew Hanson, Allison Hanson and Charlie Hanson; a sister, Rosemary Klitzke of Omaha, Neb.; a brother, James Ryan of Churdan; and a sister-in-law, Connie Ryan of Churdan. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Michael J. Ryan.
