CHOOL! In 1980 Nina was hired as a community developer for the city of Omaha's planning departments housing-unit, where she wrote plans for neighborhood revitalization for several city-wide neighborhoods, planning home rehabs, and was instrumental with upgrading the street, sidewalk & recreation facilities throughout the North Omaha community. In 1990 Nina Taylor became the 1st Woman to run for the Omaha City Counsel 2nd district. She didn't win the seat, but she opened the doors for all females; that they can aspire to do so as well. The next election, a woman (Brenda Counsel), won the seat for the 2nd district. In 2010 Nina went on to work for the Omaha's head-start program as a social worker, where she worked until she had to retire for health reasons. As a single Mother, Nina Faye Taylor raised two sons, Keavin Taylor, and Kory Taylor. Nina has 3 grandchildren: Britney Stowers - 25 (CA), Darcha Stowers - 24 (CA), & Devane Jr. Howell - 23 (GERMANY). Nina would like to send out a special thanks to friends: Vera Morgan, Betty Gauf, Shirley Stapleton, Mary Thomas, Gladys, Jimmy Redden and Mr. A.B. Brown. Nina's other siblings who are still alive are: sisters Mattie Kemp, Ruby Nichols, Jean Kellogg & brother Harold Taylor. Nina in her final 10 years has spent her time eating out at restaurants, making quilts and bottle-barbie dolls, occasionally visiting the casinos, touring downtown museums, writing novels, short stories and spending quality time with family and friends.
