Cecil Newcomb KILLEEN, Texas -- Cecil Roscoe Newcomb, 70, of Killeen, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007. Services were held at the Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, where he was interred. Mr. Newcomb was born Sept. 27, 1937, in Muscatine, the son of Cecil and Lettie Newcomb. He joined the U.S. Army in 1954 and served his country for 20 years, before retiring in Killeen, where he and his wife Michaelan raised their children. He is survived by his loving wife; two daughters, Jeannie Marie Cook of Dallas and Anne Celeste Tyler of Killeen; three sons, Tracy Lee Newcomb of Illinois, Gregory Michael Musgrove of Semmes, Ala., and Bryant Patrick Newcomb of Killeen; eight grandchildren, Jordan Damar Musgrove, Onna Michelle Tyler, Madison Marie Musgrove, Kendall Lee Burt, Christopher Lee Tyler, Taylor Marie Musgrove, Luna Angelica Bryant Newcomb and Ella Marie Bryant Newcomb; five sisters, Margie Seright, Betty Tompkins, Geraldine Phillips, Beverly Dorsey and Clara Stratton; and two brothers, Harold and Weldon Newcomb. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Grace Bierman; a brother, Ronald Newcomb; and a nephew, Todd Stratton. [more]
