James Walter Mumm

James Jim Walter Mumm of Omaha, Nebraska passed away from cancer on Saturday, June 19th of 2021 at 64 years of age in his residence and in the presence of family. Jim was born June 8th of 1957 in Champaign, Illinois, the son of Robert and Sylvia Mumm (ne Allen) who preceded him in death. He grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and attended Westside, Benson, and Lincoln school districts before obtaining his GED at Metro-tech. Jim met Janice Morgan and the two were united into marriage on June 23rd of 1984 in Omaha, Nebraska. From this union, three children - Jeanette, Jaimie, and Julianna - were born. Jim worked for Habitat for Humanity for over a decade before illness mandated his final leave of absence. He enjoyed handy projects and engineering broken tools and devices until they worked again. When not tinkering, Jim was a voracious reader, listened to music, watched action movies, and loved to fish.
