Katherin Casares Fajardo

A bright shining light in the world was extinguished suddenly when Katherin Casares Fajardo died on July 6, 2021. Born in Nicoya, Guanacaste, Costa Rican March 7, 1986, Katherin brought love and joy to those around her as well as inspiration to those who knew and loved her. Katherin was an amazingly beautiful person who grew to become a wonderfully dedicated mother and wife. Katherin met her husband, Russell Barr, in 2013 in Playa Samara, Costa Rica, where he was vacationing. It was love at first sight. They were married the following year in Samara, surrounded by the natural beauty that is Costa Rica and by her many friends and family. She was given away by her mother, Marlene Casares Fajardo. Katherin had lived in Samara for several years and was known in the town as a beautiful, kind, sweet, vivacious person. You could mention her name to anyone and they always had a wonderful story to tell about her. Katherin, her husband Russ, and their son Kaleb moved to their home in Omaha in February, 2020. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 25, 2021, from 1-3 pm at the Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 4712 South 82nd St., Omaha, Nebraska. She will be sent to her family in Costa Rica for internment.
