Edna Mae Newton

Edna Mae Newton , age 67, of Quincy, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at 5:24 pm in Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri. Edna was born October 24, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Henry and Irene Clingingsmith Muegge. Edna was a 1971 graduate of Quincy Senior High School. She worked at Titan Wheel for several years and retires from the Holiday Inn in Quincy. Edna was an avid reader and collected books and movies. When she was not reading, she would watch movies and draw pictures. She was known for her good sense of humor and her love of animals. Edna was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, and she cherished spending time with her family. Survivors include: four children, Serena (Bob) Ryan of Philadelphia, MO, Valerie Hankins of Quincy, John (Nicole) Sedelmeier of Liberty, IL, Roger Myers of Washington State; five grandchildren, Phoenix and Raiden Sedelmeier, Halle Trammel, Dusty (Andrew) McCollum, Nolan (Amber) Ryan; a great-granddaughter, Brinley McCollum; two sisters, Elizabeth (Murl) Rolland and Vicky (Paul) Hoebing, both of Quincy; two brothers, James (Debbie) Purdy and Dennis Purdy; and several nieces and ne...[more]
