Ted Eugene Colvin

Ted Eugene Colvin, age 85, of Quincy, died Saturday, July 17, 2021, in Bickford Cottage in Quincy. Ted was born January 20, 1936 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Wilbur and Fern Daugherty Colvin. He married Donna Rae on August 20, 1955 in Fowler, IL. She preceded him in death on January 1, 2021. Ted was a 1954 graduate of Unity High School where for three years, he was a starter for the football, baseball, and basketball teams. After high school he worked a number of years at Motorola before moving on to Moorman Manufacturing in Quincy. For 25 years a salesman at many local auto retailers, most notably Nosser and Shottenkirk. Ted proudly served in the U.S. Army reserves from 1959 - 1964. He and Donna were longtime members at Salem Church. Theirs was one of the first homes to be built in Canterbury Estates in Quincy. As such, he became known in the community as "The Mayor" of Canterbury Estates. Ted will be remembered for many things but most of all for his love and dedication to his family and friends. Services: A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 20, 2021, in Greenmount Cemetery, with Rev Steve Disseler officiating. There will be no visitation.
