David Renaud PENSACOLA, Fla. - David Leroy Renaud, 54, of Pensacola and Muscatine, passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, after a courageous battle against cancer. Private memorial services will be held at a later date in Muscatine with Dr. Calvin C. Swan and Dr. Jerry Foote presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mulford Evangelical Free Church, 2400 Hershey Ave., Muscatine, Iowa, 52761. Mr. Renaud was born in Grinnell, Iowa, the son of Ernest Wendell Renaud and Frances Gene Jeanne Thomas Renaud. He graduated from Grinnell College in 1975 and spent the rest of his working career as a computer specialist, programmer, systems analyst and resource person for Grinnell College, Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company and Monsanto/Pharmacia. It was in Grinnell that he met and married his wife, Diane Walker Renaud. After the birth of his daughters, he moved his family to Muscatine. In the culmination of years of prayer and the intervention of many dear friends and church members, he came to know the Lord as his Savior and began to learn more about God's will for his life. job thoroughly. He was unstintingly loyal to his employers and his family. He loved to debate politics with close friends and family and was always amused at the strong emotions he could elicit in others with a few clever points. He was a notoriously good Monopoly player and liked to watch chick flicks with his girls. He was a lifelong fan of Star Trek and a recent fan of Alias. He loved playing his piano, listening to Joni Mitchell, the Beatles, 1970s rock and roll music and a variety of classical pieces. In the last two years, he began taking guitar lessons and bowled regularly. He loved his family, especially his daughters, second only to his God, and never stopped trying to be a better husband and father. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Amy and Holly Renaud, at home; and his older brother, Ron Renaud and wife, Eva, of Newton, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother, Bruce.
