Nellie Tomson WAPELLO, Iowa - Nellie Leona Tomson, 67, of Wapello, died Saturday morning, May 10, 2008, at her home. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello. The Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Wapello Cemetery. Visitation will be after noon on Tuesday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello, family will meet friends from 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Fund has been established. She was born June 2, 1940, the daughter of William 'Bill' and Ada McDaniel Feikert, in Bushnell, Ill. She married Paul L. Tomson on May 5, 1957, in Burlington. She worked at the Blue Bell factory at Bushnell, Sylvania at Burlington, the Wapello Nursing Home, and then retired with 27 years from Thatcher Plastics at Muscatine. She enjoyed camping, gardening, and the many family activities. She was an avid collector of Beanie Babies, pencils, magnets, and Tolls, etc. She was survived by her husband, Paul; three daughters, Phyllis and Omar Connolly of Wapello, Gale and Bob Barrick of Wapello, and Judy Strahan of Galesburg, Ill.; a son, Joe Tomson of Wapello; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren;...[more]
