Dale Leland Stock

Dale Leland Stock, 95, of Dumont, Iowa, passed away Friday, August 6, 2021, at his home in Dumont. He was born on November 14, 1925, in Dumont, to Carl and Hazel (Miller) Stock. Dale graduated from Dumont High School. He joined the Navy and served during World War II from 1944 to 1946. Dale was united in marriage to Claire Kavenaugh on June 4, 1947, in Allison. He farmed on the century family farm with his parents all of their life, as well as his. Dale and Claire also purchased a farm, known as the Shamrock Hill farm, not far away and they all farmed together their entire life. Dale was a member of the Aredale and Dumont American Legion for seventy-four years and was also a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Hampton. He was also part of a rosary group consisting of Dale, Claire Stock, Pat Angstman, Bernita Peterson, Marj Kampman and Dwight Peterson, who met every Tuesday. Dale loved spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Hampton. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Dumont. Burial with military honors will take place in the Dumont Cemetery.
