Charles Ray Reddix, known by many as Ray was born May 8, 1953 in Rayville Louisiana to Ruby and Channie B. Reddix. Both parents preceded him in death. He was raised by his paternal grandmother Mary Ella Compare. Charles was the first of ten children born to this union. He was preceded in death by his two brother's Rickey and Anthony and his son Charles. In 1962 Ray's parents and grandmother relocated to San Diego, CA where Ray received his education at Logan Elementary, Memorial Junior High and Lincoln High School where he graduated. Ray received Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Reverend Moses H. Haywood at Mr. Erie Baptist Church in San Diego. Ray had numerous jobs throughout his life. He worked in group homes, helping those that couldn't do for themselves. Whenever there was a need Ray was always willing to help. His last place of employment was with Joshua House in Los Angeles. Ray always had love and compassion for people. He didn't like confusion among others and he wanted everybody to be at peace with each other. He believed that Christ would and could change anybody.
