He is survied by his wife, Bobbie Chant; a daughter, Julie Badger and husband, Steve, Cedar Rapids, a son, John Chant and wife, Kim, of Davenport; four grandchildren, Steve Badger and wife, Amanda; Lisa Nelson and husband, Chad; Tom Chant and Cpl Stacey Gamet and husband, Cpl Steven U.S.M.C.; four great-grandchildren, Skyler Bowers Nelson, Halle Nelson, Lucas Badger and Kelan Gamet; three step-grandchildren, Zachery Kern, D.C., Rachel Kern and Joseph Kern. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Bonnie.
