Phyllis M. Eckert DAVENPORT, Iowa - Phyllis M. Eckert, 93, of Davenport, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at Crest Health Center. Memorial Service will be 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, 2008, at the Koning Chapel, Ridgecrest Village, Davenport. A private burial will take place at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Ridgecrest Foundation. The Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Phyllis was born June 27, 1915, in Burlington, Vermont, the daughter of Frederick and Helen Lovejoy Parker. On September 3, 1938, she married Robert Eckert in Salt Lake City. He preceded her in death on February 19, 2000. She was the domestic engineer at her husband's corporate work which moved them often. She made each house a home in California, Utah, Idaho, Boston, Honolulu, New Orleans, Dallas and Denver. She enjoyed making friends and the natural beauty of each new area where they lived. Most recently, she made her home at Ridgecrest Village, where she made many treasured friends with residents as well as staff. , being active in her church circle, creating handiwork, traveling and hearing about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's busy lives. She will be dearly missed by her son, James P. Eckert of Tucson, Arizona; daughter, Susan Krieger and husband, Doug, of Muscatine; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Eckert of Clive; six grandchildren, JoAnn Colon and husband, Percy, of Birmingham, Alaska, Mark Eckert and wife, Lisa, of River Ridge, Louisanna, Molly Wood and husband, Paul, of Clive, John and Joseph Krieger of Liberty Township, Ohio, and Alison Krieger of Muscatine; and six great-grandchildren, Chad, Taylor and Juliana Colon, Hayley and Julie Eckert and Emma Wood. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, William R. Eckert; two sisters and one brother.
