John Luckiesh HARTFORD, Wisconsin - John Luckiesh of Hartford, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2008, at Angel's Grace in Oconomowoc. He was 90 years old. Memorials may be made to the Hartford Lions Club. John was born August 21, 1918, in Maquoketa, Iowa, the son of Edward and Bessie Edson Luckiesh. He married Laura May Bowlby on May 25, 1941, in Muscatine. He was involved to the best of his ability and caring in everything he did. He was his senior high class president. He served his country in the U.S. Navy as a petty officer during WWII stationed in Majuro Atoll in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Hartford Lions Club and was given the Lions International Foundation highest award as Melvin Jones Fellow; he was awarded chapter honors while serving as secretary; he had perfect attendance for more than 50 years. He was a member of Chamber of Commerce. He was active in Redeemer Lutheran Church and served as president and treasurer of the church council numerous times. But mostly, he loved attending sporting events and concerts and any other thing his children and grandchildren were doing. He was also an avid life-long collector of stamps and coins. He is survived by his five children, Tom Luckiesh and wife, Barbara, of Hartland, Wisconsin, Robert Luchiesh of California, Linda Schultz and husband, Steve, of Mequon, Wisconsin, Debbie Boyer and husband, Mike, of Florida, Jim Luckiesh and wife, Debbie, of Campbellsport, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren, Scott (Michelle), Kristin (Rusty), Stephanie, Brad, Erin, Cara, Noah, Nicolaus, and Tiara; four great-grandchildren, David, Louis, Mason and Cooper. He is also survived by Ann Luckiesh, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura May Luckiesh; a granddaughter, Sarah Boyer; a sister, Margaret Ann Ehl.
