She also, for a time, worked as a teacher and private home sales representative for Tri-Chem liquid embroidery where there too she excelled and received several awards. Carol was a long-time employee of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Carol was predeceased by her son Richard Ford and ex-husband Robert. She is survived by her son, Michael Ford and his wife Elizabeth (Betsy) Ford of San Marcos, TX; daughter, Deborah J. Ford and husband Daniel Armistead of Austin, TX.; two grandchildren and their families - Dr. Alysia Bedgood and sons Nixon and Dash Martino of Kyle, TX and Jason Ford and his wife Kristi of Washington, D.C.. Many thanks go out to Carol's long time quilting friend, Stacey Pavone, for all her help and devotion in Carol's later years and her long-time friend, Betty Mucha, with whom she shared many smiles and hardships over the years as their children were growing up. Carol also greatly appreciated her primary care physician of many years, Dr. Russell Krienke from Austin Region Clinic. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shriner's Hospitals for Children, Galveston, TX. Funeral services will be private and held at a later date.
