Joseph 'Joe' Hutchinson NICHOLS, Iowa - Joseph Joe Hutchinson, 51, of Nichols, passed peacefully Thursday, October 2, 2008, at his home in Nichols following an extended illness. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m., on Monday, October 6, 2008, at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremations Services in Lone Tree. Casketbearers will be Kirk Mills, Cody Mills, Tom Hillyer, Mike Mills, Chuck Walker, Rick Hain, and Rick Hora. Burial will be at the Nichols cemetery. Following the committal services at the cemetery, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Presbyterian Church in Lone Tree. Visitation will be 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2008, at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Joe. Joseph Robert Hutchinson was born on May 26, 1957, in Iowa City, the son of William and Josephine Ila Archer Hutchinson. He was united in common law marriage to Cheryl Rogers on Sept. 1, 1981. He graduated in 1975 from the Job Corps in Nebraska with a degree in Welding. After graduation he was employed by Bandag and then Grain Processing Corp. of Muscatine. ce/electrician in 1981 from Muscatine Community College. In 1983 and for the next 25 years he went on to work as a ceramic/marble flooring installer. He worked for Skiffington Tile, then as a union worker at Applebey and Horn Tile of Cedar Rapids. He was later employed at Randy's Carpets of Coralville. He was a kind, soft spoken, and gentle man. He enjoyed nature, sunshine, fishing, drag racing, his friends, but most of all, he loved sharing his life with Cheryl Rogers his common law wife of 29 years, his three daughters, and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Cheryl of Nichols; his children, Jennifer Morrison and her special friend, Bob Lily of Low Moor, Amber Hain and her husband, Rick of Lone Tree and Brianna Hutchinson of Nichols; four grandchildren, Kimberlee, Rhiann, Hunter, and Zöe; three sisters, Patricia Lane and her husband, Drew of La Cyngo, Kan., Michelle Frickey and her husband, Michael of Nichols and Denise Hutchinson of Iowa City; a brother, William Hutchinson of Iowa City; 12 brothers and sisters-in-law; 25 nieces and nephews and six grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Jacobé.
