ed by having his picture placed with others at the WWII museum. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 27. He worked at the Muscatine Fire Department for 28 years, retiring in 1982. He was later employed for nine years, then retired from Muscatine Power and Water. He felt that he was the richest man in the world because of his close and loving family. He enjoyed playing bingo, having coffee with family and friends, going fishing, going out to eat, and watching his grandchildren's activities. As he always said, and which was very true, he was one of the good guys. Richard will be deeply missed by his four daughters, Christi Berry and husband, Mike, Kathy Gray and husband, Gary, Cindi Naber and husband, Jim, and Chelly Gosset and husband, Larry; one son, Jim Ludman and wife, Laurie, all of Muscatine; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Joyce Ewert and husband, Cully, of Garland, Texas; a sister in-law, Mrs. Lloyde (Ethel) Law, and brother in-law, Darrell (Betty) Hopkins, both of Muscatine; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
