Sandy Lynn Butler, 64, of Burlington died at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at Great River Medical Center - Klein Center. Born April 22, 1946 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Wilfred "Jim" and Ceola Erickson Wasson. Ms. Butler was a Burlington High School graduate and attended Midstate College. She worked at Montgomery Ward, managed area rental properties, worked at the Dugout Lounge and more recently was office clerk at McGregors. She had also been co-owner of Charles and SanMar Dress Shop Ms. Butler was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and the Women's Auxiliary of the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed cooking, reading cook books, antiquing, flea markets, painting, craft shows, traveling, camping and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved going with her Aunt Bert to the Moose dances. Survivors include four daughters, Michele "Shelly" (Brad) Barlau of Rosemont, Minnesota, Sheree (David) Stadler of Vermillion, Minnesota, Sara (Jason) Shoop and Briana (Bob) Sourwine both of Burlington; eight grandchildren; four step grandchildren; one step great grandchild; two sisters, Shirley (Butch) Shoemaker of Quincy, Illinois and Kris (Ron) Wagg of Medi...[more]

lis; one brother, Steve (Kristin) Wasson of Surrey, Maine; one aunt; two uncles; and nieces and nephews. Her parents and one brother, James "Jimmy" Wasson preceded her in death. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 17th, in Lunning Chapel. The funeral service for Ms. Butler will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 18th, in Lunning Chapel. The Rev. Kendall Adams will officiate. Interment will be in Shinar Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
