nds at the Letts Consolidated Schools and Louisa-Muscatine School retiring in 1990. He then worked for Chowen Appliance in Nichols and then an additional 12 years for the Grimm Bros. Plastics in Wapello. He simply loved to work and could always find something to do. In early years, he enjoyed racing jalopies. He continued to enjoy car races especially NASCAR. He was a member of the Walnut Park Baptist Church in Muscatine. He is survived by his wife, Janice Brockett of Letts; his seven children, Cathy and Mike Bewley of LeClair, Patrick Brockett of Maquoketa, Peggy and Jerry Waack of Elizabeth, West Virginia, Sherril and Greg Gappa of Crystal, Minnesota, Jeffery Long of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, Rick and Sue Brockett of Topeka, Kansas, and Molly and Chris Osmun of Newton; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and two brothers, Robert Brockett of Muscatine and Clifford Brockett of Cambridge, Illinois and Mesa, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Frances.
