Alma A. Peterson BETTENDORF, Iowa - Alma A. Peterson, 97, of Bettendorf, formerly of Davenport, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2009. Burial will be in Parr Cemetery in Muscatine County. Memorials may be made to the church. Alma was born on September 25, 1911, in Muscatine County, the daughter of Arnold and Matilda Henke Kretschmar. She married Kenneth A. Peterson on September 15, 1936, in Pleasant Prairie. She taught country school in Muscatine County prior to her marriage. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Peterson; a sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Clifford Freyermuth of Phoenix, Arizona; nephews, John and David Freyermuth, both residing in Arizona; an aunt, Ina Kretschmar of Davenport; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents. [more]
