Myra Elizabeth Jones

Myra was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and teacher who touched many lives with her kindness and Christ-like love. She passed on to be with the Lord on September 15th, 2021, due to health complications. Myra was born to Emmit Austin and Anna Louise Owens on September 20th, 1952 in Shreveport, LA. She was married to the love of her life for 50 years and they raised 3 beautiful children together. She was a talented and dedicated pre-school teacher for over 30 years, impacting the lives of countless children, parents and colleagues. Myra is survived by her loving husband, John Micheal Jones; their children, Micheal Shane Jones, John Marcus Jones, and Kimberly Allison Ibarra; her grandchildren Justin Micheal Jones, Andrew Marcus Jones, Aaron Austin Jones, Kylie Shayne Jones, Merrick Andres Ibarra, Ellie Savannah Ibarra, and Matthew Lee Holmes; her sisters Fern Scroggins and Sandra Poindexter. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 21st, at 2 p.m. by Pastor Rex D. Johnson at Christian Life Austin, 4700 Westgate Boulevard, Austin, TX. Burial service will be held on Monday, September 27th, at 10:30 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX.
