Marvin Lee Bentley MEDIAPOLIS, Iowa - Marvin Lee Bentley, 81, Mediapolis, died Monday Sept. 28, 2009, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. on Friday October 2, 2009, at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, Mediapolis. Reverend Jerleen Schlesser will officiate. Interment will follow at the Kossuth cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2009, at the funeral home where family will meet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A memorial has been established for the Great River Hospice House. Marvin was born on April 5, 1928, the son of Albert and Minnie Peterson Bentley, in Burlington. He married Mary Lois Riggs on February 13, 1949, in Burlington. He was a graduate of the Mediapolis High School. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Burlington. Survivors include his wife, Mary Bentley of Mediapolis; a daughter, Terry Shubert of Rochester, Minnesota; two sons, Brian Bentley of Muscatine and Alan Bentley of Rochester; nine grandchildren and a great-grandson; He was preceded in death by his parents.
