MARY FERREIRA MUSCATINE, Iowa - Mary K. Ferreira, 57, of Muscatine, died Thursday, October 1, 2009, at her home, after a long and courageous battle with lung disease. A Celebration of Mary's Life will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2009, at the American Legion, 110 S Houser Street. As per her request, there will be no visitation or formal funeral service. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Louie Ferreira. Mary was born on October 19, 1951, in Muscatine, the daughter of Bernard and Valeria Schaapveld Wieskamp. She married Luis 'Louie' Ferreira on March 15, 2002, in Muscatine. She was a graduate from Hayes Catholic High School. She was a homemaker and sold Avon for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and she enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She also loved her dogs, Bud and Heidi.
