Arvid Lyle Morgan Jr. COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa - Arvid Lyle Morgan Jr., 61, Columbus Junction, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at his home. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. on Monday, November 2, 2009, at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services, Columbus Junction. Reverend Sharon Phillips will officiate the services. Burial will be in Columbus City Cemetery with military rites by the Allen Wright Hanft American Legion Post No. 100. Following the committal services, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the American Legion in Columbus Junction. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in his name. Arvid was born on January 31, 1948, in Columbus Junction, the son of Arvid Lyle and Mary Catherine Buser Morgan. He was a 1966 graduate of Columbus High School. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam War from 1967-71 serving in the Philippines and Southeast Asia. He married Regina Porter Feb. 11, 1973, in Columbus Junction. They were later divorced. ion American Legion Allen Wright Hanft Post No. 100, Louisa County Fair Board, Iowa Tourism for Louisa County, the Columbus Community Club, past member of the Columbus Junction V.F.W. and was a Columbus Day Parade Organizer. He enjoyed working on and restoring classic cars and racing. He was an avid fan of Steve McQueen and W.C. Fields and liked spending time with his dog, Dumpy. He will be dearly missed by his daughters, Allison Morgan and fianc�'©, Ryan Thornburg, and Shannon Wolfe and husband, Fritz, both of Muscatine; five grandchildren, Treven Thomas, Emma Thornburg, Sophie Thornburg, Logan Wolfe, and Ridge Wolfe; three brothers, Butch Morgan and wife, Jocey, of Washington, Paul Morgan and wife, Lora, of Columbus Junction and David Morgan of Richmond, Missouri; three nephews, Shane Morgan, Ryan Morgan, Billy Morgan; and two nieces, Sue McGregor and Anne Lovell. He was preceded in death by his parents.
