GERHARD F. Jeff KOCH III MUSCATINE, Iowa - Gerhard F. Jeff Koch III, 75, of Muscatine, died Sunday, Janaury 10, 2010, at Lutheran Homes. Memorial Service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 15, 2010, at the First Presbyterian Church. Reverend David Ivie will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2010, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the G. F. Koch Scholarship Fund at Muscatine Community College or the First Presbyterian Church. Jeff was born on March 2, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Gerhard F. and Lillian Meitze Koch Jr. He married Deanna Crow on June 10, 1961, in Des Moines, Iowa. He was a chemistry instructor at Muscatine Community College for over 41 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served the church in many different capacities. He was also a member of the American Chemical Society, Union of Concerned Scientists and Habitat for Humanity. He was a devoted husband and father who cared for others in many ways. Collins, Colorado; a special daughter, Rosalie Huscko and her husband, Stan, of Wilton, and their children, Seth and Andr�'©; one brother, Ernest Koch of Evergreen Park, Illinois; and two sisters, Laurel Sherer of Richmond, Indiana, and Dorothy Hoppell of Sandy, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents.
