SUSAN A. BURZLAFF MUSCATINE, Iowa - Susan A. Burzlaff, 82, of Muscatine, died Monday, March 1, 2010, at her home. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2010, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Stephen Pera of the Zion Lutheran Church will officiate the service. Burial will take place at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Nashville, Tennessee. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2010, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church. Susan was born on April 23, 1927, in Nashville, Tennessee, the daughter of Thomas Allen and Emma Wright Evans Almon. She married Henry A. Burzlaff on December 29, 1955, in Old Hickory Tennessee. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2001. She attended Auburn University and graduated from the George Peabody College for Teachers in Nashville. Before 1956, she worked as a school teacher in Davidson County Schools in Nashville, Tennessee. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Muscatine, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and was also a member of the Phi Mu Sorority.
