SUSAN SCHAULAND JOHNSON MUSCATINE, Iowa - Susan Jeralyn Schauland Johnson, 57, of Muscatine, died suddenly Friday, May 7, 2010, at her home. Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Sharon Phillips of the Jesus Mission will officiate the service. Honorary bearers will be Pamela Grimm, Larry Phillips, Peggy Nelson, Nick Rhode, Jill Weikert, Billie DeKeyrl, Tish Hetzler, Wayne Johnson, Robin Scribner, Dick O'Brien, Dr. Hamid Sagha, and Dr. Bob Trevarthan. Burial will take place at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at the funeral home. worked for 16 years at the Muscatine County Home. She was a member of the Jesus Mission; Officers Wives at the Rock Island Arsenal; and volunteered at the Salvation Army. Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Dale Johnson of Muscatine; one son, Jamie W. Schell III of Muscatine; one granddaughter, Mallery Pedersen Schell of Muscatine; her parents, Marlin and Evelyn Schauland of Muscatine; one brother, Dr. Thomas Schauland and wife, Barbara, of Huntington, West Virginia; two nephews, Michael Thomas of San Diego, California, and Ryan Schauland of Grand Rapids, Michigan; four nieces, Chelsey Glass of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Tiffany Erikson of Ada, Michigan, Cindy Morrison of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Kay Bashke of St. Cloud, Minnesota; and dear family friends, Dick and Margie Wilson of Muscatine. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.
