Sandra I Girard

Sandra I. (Hood) Girard, 75, of North Smithfield, passed away December 24, 2016, in her home. She was the wife of the late Walter W. Girard. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Earl W. and Irene (Sjoblom) Hood. She worked as a Research and Development Supervisor for International Paper in Walpole, MA prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Woonsocket, and loved the New England Patriots. Sandra is survived by her two sons, Carlton Hood of Bellingham, and Eric Girard of Woonsocket; her stepson, David Girard of Westminster; two stepdaughters, Shirley Carpentier of Moosup, CT, and Linda Lavimodiere of OH; and her sister, Earlene Cook of Uxbridge; as well as two grandchildren, Kyle and Brian Hood of Bellingham. Her funeral will be held on Monday, January 2, 2017, at 10 AM in St. Mark Lutheran Church, 871 Harris Avenue, Woonsocket.
