Leila F. Ovesen DURANT, Iowa -Leila F. Ovesen, 86, of Durant, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at Davenport Lutheran Homes. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2010, at the Zion Lutheran Church, Wilton. Interment will be at the Durant Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 25, 2010, at the Bentley Funeral Home, Durant. Additional visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or the Durant Ambulance Service. Leila was born on August 15, 1923, to Elmer and Meta Lilienthal Otto in Stockton. She graduated from Durant High School in 1941. She married Hilbert E. Ovesen on September 4, 1943, in Davenport. He preceded her in death on January 1, 2007. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Wilton and the Scott County Farm Bureau. She loved working on the farm, gardening and flowers, especially roses. She is lovingly remembered by a son, Wayne Ovesen and Lucy Meyer of Durant; granddaughters, Lori Gamble of Walcott and Susan Suhr and husband, Brad, of Davenport; three great-grandchildren; and her brother-in-law, Lyle Sissel of Muscatine.
