VIRGINIA LESLIE LAS VEGAS, Nevada - Virginia Jeanne Leslie, 85, of Las Vegas, Nevada, a former resident of Muscatine, Iowa, died Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at her home. Private inurnment will take place in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will meet with friends at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at the First Presbyterian Church Parlor. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is helping the Leslie family with arrangements. Memorials may be sent to Community Lutheran Church, 3720 E Tropicana Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89121. Virginia was born on March 2, 1924, in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Eugene and Georgia Adams Rosenthal. She married William R. Leslie on June 17, 1950, in Muscatine, Iowa. He preceded her in death on March 23, 2001. She also was a member of the Muscatine General Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary and also helped organize the Muscatine High School Band Parent and Booster Group. She was a member of the Electra Chapter No. 32, Order of the Eastern Star of Muscatine, Davenport Court No. 1 of the Order of the Amaranth, where she served as Grand Royal Matron from 1962-1963 of the Grand Court of Iowa. While living in Las Vegas, she was a member of the Community Lutheran Church. Those left to honor her memory include her son, Thomas Gene Leslie and wife, Tracy Ann, of Las Vegas, Nevada; one daughter, Virginia Jeanne Johnson of Chicago, Illinois; and one granddaughter, Dominique Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister, Charlotte Rosenthal.
