Elvera M. Lowe MUSCATINE, Iowa - Elvera M. Lowe, 86, Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at her home in Muscatine. Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2010, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Casket bearers will be Gary Lowe, Ed Rick, Jason Rick and Junior Rick. Burial will take place in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. After the committal there will be a luncheon at the Wesley United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2010, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Conesville United Methodist Church and the Wesley United Methodist Church in Elvera's name. Elvera was born on June 17, 1924, in Nichols, the daughter of Melvin T. and Emma M. Yedlick Crist. She was a graduate and salutatorian of Conesville High School. She married William P. Lowe on September 4, 1941, in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death. She owned and operated Muskie Motel with her husband from 1978-93. Swetland and husband, Ronald, of Blue Grass, Karen Morgan and husband, Jim, and Bonnie Lee and husband, Butch, all of Muscatine; her grandchildren, Jodie Lee Paetz and husband, David, of Naperville, Illinois, William Morgan and wife, Lorinda, of Illinois City, Illinois, Wade Lee of Muscatine, and Tamara Morgan of Wilmington, North Carolina; her great-grandchildren, Cole Morgan, Meridyth Morgan, Samuel Paetz, Erin Paetz and Jack Paetz; and her brother, Keith Crist and wife, Pat, of Iowa City. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and a brother, Virgil.
