Ernie L. Bud Darting WILTON, Iowa - Ernie L. ''Bud'' Darting, 74, Wilton, died Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at University Hospitals in Iowa City. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 25, 2010, at the United Methodist Church, Wilton. The Rev. Tom Zeleny will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by organist Kathy Luethye. Serving as casket bearers will be Mike Rynott, Pat Rynott, Tim Lenker, Todd Lenker, Dennis Henderson and Joe Escher. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Ron Bohnsack, Nevin Birkhofer, John Hinkhouse, Joe Schrock, Bob Barrett, Jim Douglas and David VanWyk. Burial will take place in Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 24, 2010, at the church, with additional visitation one hour prior to the service at the Church. Memorials may be made to Wilton First Responders, the United Methodist Church, Wilton, or the Oakdale Cemetery Association in his memory. ountry in the United States Army. He married Sandra K. Brenner on November 17, 1967, in Wilton. He was truck driver for 51 years. He owned and operated D amp; C Express and Transport for the last 30 years, retiring in 2006. He drove No. 52 stockcar for 17 years, he loved WWF Wrestling and NASCAR races. He loved living on the river and watching the barges, Ozark vacations for 25 years and visiting with his friends and family. He spent many hours tinkering on his 1931 roadster. Above all, he loved his grandchildren and the time he spent with them. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Sandy Darting of Wilton; his daughter, Amy Maurer and husband, Mark, of Wilton; his son, A.J. Darting and wife, Monica, of Muscatine; grandchildren, Madison Maurer, Lexi Maurer, Morgan Maurer, Desi Darting, Venessa Darting and Buddy Darting; his sister, Donna Rynott of Moline, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Ida May Lester, Arlene Christensen, Loriane Henderson and Orma Parkhurst.
