He owned and operated D amp; C Express and Transport for the last 30 years, retiring in 2006. He drove No. 52 stockcar for 17 years, he loved WWF Wrestling and NASCAR races. He loved living on the river and watching the barges, Ozark vacations for 25 years and visiting with his friends and family. He spent many hours tinkering on his 1931 roadster. Above all, he loved his grandchildren and the time he spent with them. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Sandy Darting of Wilton; his daughter, Amy Maurer and husband, Mark, of Wilton; his son, A.J. Darting and wife, Monica, of Muscatine; grandchildren, Madison Maurer, Lexi Maurer, Morgan Maurer, Desi Darting, Venessa Darting and Buddy Darting; his sister, Donna Rynott of Moline, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Ida May Lester, Arlene Christensen, Loriane Henderson and Orma Parkhurst.
