Burr Arthur Beeding MUSCATINE, Iowa - Burr Arthur Beeding, 78, Muscatine, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2010, at All American Care in Muscatine. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 28, 2010, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Casket bearers will be Ron Beeding, Tom Beeding, Charlie Ridinger, Keith Krueger, James Hooker and JR Brown. Burial will take place in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites by the V.F.W. Post No. 1565. Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship will be held at his daughter Nancy's home in Muscatine. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in his name. Burr was born on February 25, 1932, in Mercer County, Illinois, the son of Maurice L. and Martha M. Adams Beeding. He served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from May of 1953 to April of 1955, attaining the rank of corporal. He married Joyce A. c. from 1956-67 as a machine operator and then the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier from 1967-93. He was a member of the Muscatine Saddle Club, VFW and a past member of the Muscatine Coin Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, mushrooming, horses, metal detecting and entertaining people with his harmonica. He will be deeply missed by his children, Rebecca Boulton of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Jerry Beeding of Muscatine, Rosalee Kruse of Michigan, Robert Beeding of Muscatine, and wife, Anna, of Toronto, Ontario, Jeffrey Beeding and wife, Melinda, of Kentucky, and Nancy Hopkins and husband, Steve, of Muscatine; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth ''Tex'' Beeding and wife, Mary; and two sisters, Shirley Steele and husband, Phil, and Clara Wheeler, all of Muscatine. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a brother, Maurice ''Sam'' Beeding Jr.
