THERA MAE SHIELD MUSCATINE, Iowa - Thera Mae Shield, 86, of Muscatine, died Monday, November 29, 2010, at Lutheran Homes. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2010, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Michael Shield Jr. will officiate the service. Honorary bearers will be Russell G. Shield and Clayton Patterson. Casket bearers will be Ben Shield, Sam Shield, Russell W. Shield, Stacy Olson, Julie Hansen, Brittni Shield, and Tori Shield. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2010, at the funeral home. Thera was born on May 8, 1924, in Muscatine, the daughter of Earl and Arizona Fuller Patterson. She married Russell George Shield on July 10, 1943, in Texas. Those left to honor her memory include her husband, George Shield of Muscatine; two sons, Michael Shield Sr. and wife, Linda, of Muscatine, and Russell W. Shield and wife, Lisa, of Wapello; six grandchildren, Michael Shield Jr., Stacy Olson, Julie Hansen, Russell G.
