Thomas W. Custer EAST PEORIA, Illinois - Thomas W. Custer, 71, East Peoria, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at his home with his family by his side. Graveside Service will be 2:30 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2010, at the Roberts Cemetery in Morton, Illinois. There will be no visitation. The Remmert Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation. Thomas was born on March 8, 1939, in Muscatine, the son of Frank E. and Howardine Massey Custer. He married Shirley Carroll in Pekin, Illinois on December 18, 1990. Tom worked as a contractor and home builder. His passion was driving a race car and building engines, and raced all around the United States. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Custer; four children, Jeff, Chris, Shawn, and Corey Custer; three grandchildren; a brother, Jerry Custer and wife, Deb; a sister, Cynthia Littlefield and husband, Kim; two step-daughters, Jodi Blank and fianc�'© Paul Moore, Cynthia Hall and fianc�'© Victor Rogers; seven step-grandchildren; a step-great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
