MUSCATINE, Iowa - Mary Koenigsaecker Ross Thompson, 83, of Muscatine, died on Sunday, December 19, 2010, at her home. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2010, at the St. Mathias Church, 215 West Eighth Street. The Reverend Joseph Sia of the Ss Mary and Mathias Parish will officiate the service. Honorary bearers will be Henry Miller, Leo Grosjean, George Koenigsaecker III, Robert Minder, Charles Koenigsaecker, Rick Mercer, and Mike Barnes. Casket bearers will be Jack Wilson, Nate Baker, Aaron Baker, Josh Baker, Andy Ruden, and Greg Lamb.Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home with a Rosary Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to the "Shop with a Cop" Program of the Muscatine Police Department and the University of Iowa Surgical Skills Lab. irgil Ross on April 23, 1999, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death on March 13, 2000. She and Victor Thompson celebrated a commitment ceremony on July 24, 2010. She worked at Wilson's Shoe Store and later at Trinity House. She was a member of the Ss. Mary and Mathias Parish attending St. Mathias Church, and was also a former member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas - Joan of Arc Court 524. She loved playing bridge, spending time on the river and swimming, knitting, crocheting, shopping, and spending time with her family. Those left to honor her memory include two daughters, Judy Baker and husband, Gary, of Aledo, Illinois, and Robin Edwards and husband, Fred, of Muscatine; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; Victor Thompson brought his three daughters, Vicki Ball of Conover, North Carolina, Kerri Sexton of Lone Tree, and Glenda Cook, of Nichols; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren, to their family; and one brother, Richard Wilson and wife, Margaret, of Muscatine.
