Edwin W. Marolf DAVENPORT, Iowa - Edwin W. Marolf, 77, of Davenport, died on Saturday, January 1, 2011, at Manor Care Health Services in Davenport. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at the Bentley Funeral Home in Wilton. Burial will take place in Oakdale Cemetery in Wilton. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society in his memory. Edwin was born on November 17, 1933, to John and Lena Weiss Marolf in Cedar County. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He later served four years in the U.S. Air Force. Edwin retired from the Rock Island Arsenal where he had worked for 22 years. He is survived by his sisters, Margaret Marolf of Muscatine, and June Welton of Huntington Beach, California; nephews, James Welton, Jeff Welton and wife, Debra, and John Welton and wife, Kerry, and their sons, Nathan and Carter. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Ernest Marolf, and his brother-in-law, Paul Welton. [more]
