Alta S. Mast KALONA, Iowa - Alta S. Mast, 65, died on Thursday, January 27, 2011, at her home following a brief illness. Funeral Service will be 9:30 a.m. on Monday, January 31, 2011, at the Mast family home, 5761 James Ave. SW, Kalona. Burial will take place in Peter Miller Cemetery, Kalona. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2011, the family home and continues all day Saturday and Sunday. Ms. Mast was born at the Mast family home. She was the daughter of Sam and Katie Gingerich Mast. She attended rural school in the community. She was co-owner and bookkeeper for the Community Country Store for many years. She accepted Christ as her Saviour in her youth and was baptized in the Old Order Amish Church. She remained a faithful member until her end. She is survived by 12 siblings and spouses, Eldora Yoder and husband, Chriss R. Yoder of Kalona, Alvin Mast and wife, Dorothy, of Parsonsburg, Maryland, Lloyd Mast and wife, Vesta, Lizzie Yoder and husband, Melvin, and Dorothy Mast, all of Kalona, Magdalena Bender and husband, David, of Aylmer, Ontario, Clara Miller and husband, Elmer T. Miller, and Mahlon Mast and wife, Ruth Anna, all of Kalona; 75 nieces and nephews, numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and four aunts and uncles, Cora and Mose Yoder, Ida Mullet, Pauline Schrock and Dorothea Gingerich. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, a stillborn infant and Verna, and three nieces and one nephew.
