VERA VIRGINIA PENDELL MUSCATINE, Iowa - Vera Virginia Pendell, 77, of Muscatine, died on Thursday, February 10, 2011, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 14, 2011, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Lloyd Mansfield, Minister of the Church of Christ will officiate the service. Honorary bearers will be Curt Dietrich and Terry Eagle. Casket bearers will be David Foster, Scott Reid, Robbie Foor, Kevin Adkins, Daryl Bixby, Doug Whitaker, Dennis Beechum, and Mike Reiland. Burial will take place in Klein Cemetery, Moscow. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 13, 2011, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the family in care of her daughter, Sue Miles. Virginia was born on September 14, 1933, in Louisa County, the daughter of Virgil D. and Vera Bush Reid. She was married to Earlen Hahn, Elmer Skidmore, and Elmer Pendell. Those left to honor her memory include four sons, Daniel Hahn of Muscatine, Elden Hahn and wife, Kathy, of Muscatine, Steven Hahn of Muscatine, and Cliff Skidmore and wife, Pam, of Wapello; two daughters, Felicia Sharp and husband, Rocky, of Muscatine, and Sue Miles and husband, Daniel, of West Liberty; 26 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; her mother, Vera Reid Wilson of Muscatine; two brothers, Wilbur Reid and wife, Georgia, of Letts, and Ralph Reid of Lander, Wyoming; three sisters, Illa Trumbull of Panama City, Florida, Irene Smith and husband, Smitty, of Muscatine, and Wilma Bixby and husband, Lewis, of Columbus Junction; several nieces and nephews; and other close relatives. She was preceded in death by her father; all three husbands; two sons, Vernon Hahn and Mark Skidmore; two sisters, Erline Adkins and Mary Sivertsen; two grandsons, Tom Petersen and Nicholas Hahn; two brothers-in-law, Den Trumbull and Bob Bivens; and two nieces, Theresa Lick and LeAnn Whitcomb.
