Betty R. Elsberry

Betty Rae Wilcox was born October 3, 1947 in Fort Dodge, daughter of Raymond and Gladys (Young) Wilcox. She grew up in Lehigh and attended school there in her younger years. Betty obtained her GED while attending cosmetology school at La' James Cosmetology in Fort Dodge. She then owned a home business salon in Dayton. In 1966, Betty was united in marriage to Larry B. Sallee. They were blessed with three children. They were later divorced. In 2000, she was united in marriage to Gary Elsberry. Betty worked many years at the Wilcox Café in Lehigh. Betty was very dedicated to her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed crafting, crocheting, sewing blankets and embroidering for the grandkids, cooking, baking, and spending time on her tablet. Betty died Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Kossuth Regional Health Center. She was 74. She is survived by her children, Roberta McVay of Algona, Chad (Amber) Sallee of Dawsonville, GA.
